Let’s start with the most lavish of them all the Tatcha Dewy Skin Cream. Woo $70 later, yes it’s up there in price but I can attest to its amazingness. I haven’t felt a texture like this before in a moisturizer. It’s actually hard to explain what it feels like. Almost like… a silky soft purple pillow in cream form. You really just need to feel it. Some unique ingredients include Japanese purple rice, which is rich in anthocyanin. Anthocyanin is an antioxidant that helps the skin recover from UV damage, and protects the skin from pollution. It also has anti-inflammatory properties. Some other noteworthy ingredients include a Okinawa Algae Blend, hyaluronic acid and other botanical extracts like ginseng. Not all of Tatcha’s products are vegan, but I’m stoked that this one is ! If you have dry skin, and want your skin to feel & look dewy all day with a healthy ‘glow from within’ glow.. then this is the one. Also- not a lot of people know this, but the little silver/gold piece on the top is actually the spatula ! I love that Tatcha thought of a way to implement an area for it to be stored when not in use.
The Youth To The People Superfood Air-Whip Moisture Cream was my go-to during the hot summer months ! My skin during the summer can be more combo to oily, so I prefer something a little more lightweight. The cream absorbs quickly into the skin, which I love, and feels very fluffy. It’s full of skin loving superfoods & antioxidants like kale, spinach and green tea to name a few… and also contains everyones favorite hydrating ingredient… hyaluronic acid.
I actually found out about the Ursa Major Golden Hour Recovery Cream (affiliate link takes you to Follain. use code: ref15_eeqb8r to get 15% off your first Follain purchase !!) from a Petit Vour subscription box a couple of years ago ! It ended up being my winter go-to for awhile until I ran out of the mini. This cream is great for rehydrating and replenishing dry winter skin. Although this is a thicker cream, it doesn’t feel heavy on the skin and a little … goes a long way. It also contains a lot of great ingredients like sea buckthorn – rich in antioxidants and omega fatty acids to strengthen the skin’s moisture barrier, calendula – to soothe and condition, black currant – high in vitamin c, and sunflower seed oil – high in linoleum acid to help retain skin moisture.
Last up, we have the Drunk Elephant Lala Retro Whipped Moisturizer. I’ve loved this moisturizer all year long and it’s the one I’m using the most right now since I’ve been out of the Tatcha Dewy Skin Cream. I love that the packaging is a pump vs a jar so the product stays protected. Plus, I’m not dipping my fingers into it. I will say that makes it a little difficult to know when I’m about to be out though. Honestly, this is a great general everyday moisturizer. I love using this one when I’m using other actives in my routines since it’s pretty simple. I also enjoy using this one on any crazy dry areas on my body as well, like my feet or hands. It contains a sodium hyaluronate crosspolymer which apparently has a smaller molecular weight than hyaluronic acid so it’s able to deeply penetrate the skin. Kinda cool. The newest formula of Lala now contains ceramides, which help with the skin barrier. Lastly, I like how it’s fragrance free !
Another staple I can say that I’ve enjoyed, but not pictured, is The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA. This is a pretty straightforward, simple moisturizer that’s also very affordable compared to all the others ! My husband enjoyed it too, and actually finished it up !
