Dia De Los Muertos or Day of the Dead is celebrated on All Saints Day and All Souls Day, minor holidays in the Catholic calendar. (Nov 1 & Nov 2). Some also believe it begins on Hallow’s Eve (Oct 31). Although it originated in what is now Mexico over 3,000 years ago, it is widely celebrated in many different places around the world.
Dia De Los Muertos, is a merge between life & death. Families come together to celebrate with the souls of the their loved ones. It is believed that the deceased return to their homes to visit their families. Families honor their loved ones with gifts of sugar skulls, flowers, their favorite beverages and favorite foods in a huge celebration. Dia De Los Muertos allows the dead to live again.
